Save Game Guide for R.E.P.O. Players

by Emily May 16,2025

If you're diving into the cooperative horror game *R.E.P.O.*, you're in for a thrilling, physics-based retrieval experience that can be enjoyed with up to six players. The game challenges you and your team to explore various maps, find valuables, and safely extract them. But to ensure your efforts aren't in vain, understanding how to save your game in *R.E.P.O.* is crucial.

How To Save Your Game in R.E.P.O.

One of the most frustrating experiences in gaming is loading up your favorite title only to find your recent progress hasn't been saved. This issue is particularly common with new games like *R.E.P.O.*, where not all games feature autosaves, and some require specific actions or locations to be reached before you can safely save and quit. Missing tutorial instructions on saving can lead to confusion, and sometimes, the saving mechanism isn't clearly explained.

In *R.E.P.O.*, remember that the game only autosaves when you complete a level. There's no option for manual saving, so if you quit during a retrieval mission or die (which sends you to the Disposal Arena), your progress will be lost, and you'll need to start the level over. Death in *R.E.P.O.* results in the deletion of your save file, and exiting mid-level means returning to the start of that level.

To save your game, you must successfully complete a level by delivering your valuables to the Extraction Point, then enter (or return to) the truck. Hold the message button above your head to signal the AI boss, the Taxman, that it's time to head to the Service Station. At the Service Station, you can shop and prepare for the next level. Use the same button to proceed to the next location.

Once you've left the Service Station and arrived at your next location, it's safe to exit to the main menu or quit the game. When you or your host (if someone else created the save file) relaunch *R.E.P.O.*, you can jump back into the game as usual. It's important to note that the game's "host" is responsible for exiting at the correct time to ensure the game saves properly. When the host quits, all other players will be logged out.

Now that you're equipped with the knowledge on how to save your game in *R.E.P.O.*, explore our other guides to enhance your teamwork and strategy on your next mission.
