The highly successful TV adaptation of "The Last of Us" was renewed for Season 3 even before Season 2 premiered. But is a Season 4 in the cards? Showrunner Craig Mazin has suggested that a fourth season is practically essential for the show.
In an interview with Collider, Mazin acknowledged that trying to conclude the story from Naughty Dog's two video games in Season 3 alone would mean the season "would take forever." So, although there's a "decent chance" Season 3 will have more episodes than Season 2, ultimately, "it’s impossible to wrap up this entire narrative in a third season."
He added: "With any luck, we’ll prove our worth and return to finish the story in a fourth season. That’s the most probable scenario."
