Shiny Pokémon Debut in Pokémon Go's "Scattered Winds" Event

by Gabriel Mar 13,2025

February might still have a chill in the air, but Pokémon Go is heating things up with its exciting new event: Scattered to the Wind! This event offers a fantastic opportunity to boost your gameplay and add some shiny new Pokémon to your collection.

Get ready for increased XP rewards! Spin PokéStops for double XP, and your first spin of the day nets you a whopping 5x XP. You can also open up to 40 Gifts daily (or 60 with the Eggs-pedition Access: February ticket). Plus, you'll have a heightened chance of encountering a Shiny Pidgey!

But the excitement doesn't stop there! By pinning postcards from around the world, you'll dramatically increase your chances of encountering Shiny Scatterbug, Shiny Pewpa, and Shiny Vivillon. This event also includes new Field Research Task rewards and a paid Timed Research event.

Out of your shell

Pokémon Go’s emphasis on encouraging exploration is a key part of its appeal. While the addition of new Pokémon is always welcome, the event's focus on international postcards might feel a bit unusual for some players. Nevertheless, it presents a unique opportunity to connect with the global Pokémon Go community.

Don't miss out! The Scattered to the Wind event runs from February 18th to 20th, so make the most of this limited-time opportunity to catch some shiny Pokémon and earn valuable rewards. And for an extra boost, check out our list of Pokémon Go promo codes!
