The Sims franchise's 25th anniversary is in full swing, and while Electronic Arts has unveiled its celebratory roadmap, exciting surprises may still be in store.
A recent Sims teaser subtly referenced the series' first two installments, sparking widespread fan speculation about a potential re-release. Although unconfirmed, Kotaku sources suggest a possible announcement later this week: digital PC versions of The Sims 1 and 2, complete with their original expansion packs.
The possibility of console releases remains uncertain, and if so, the timing is unknown. However, given the potential for significant nostalgic revenue, it seems improbable that EA would forgo this opportunity.
The Sims 1 and 2 are relatively inaccessible today due to their age and limited legal distribution options. Their return would undoubtedly be a welcome event for many long-time fans.
