Songs of Conquest brings HOMM-like strategy to iOS and Android

by Caleb Apr 01,2025

Among my most eagerly awaited mobile game releases, Songs of Conquest stands out prominently. Although its spiritual predecessor, Heroes of Might & Magic, predates my gaming era, the blend of RPG elements, strategic rock-paper-scissors mechanics, and deep strategy is undeniably captivating.

But let's not get ahead of ourselves; Songs of Conquest has just launched on iOS and Android, bringing its hex-based strategy gameplay to mobile devices. In this game, you command stacks of infantry, monsters, and other units, striving to outmaneuver and defeat your opponent's forces. Utilize the terrain and harness the power of arcane magic to gain the upper hand in battle.

The game is beautifully rendered in 2.5D and introduces four distinct factions at launch: the necromantic kingdom of Loth, the remnant empire of Arleon, the ancient frog tribes of Rana, and the mercenary merchants of Barya. Each faction comes with unique traits, strengths, and weaknesses, which you must master and exploit to secure victory.

Beyond the familiar hex-based battles reminiscent of Heroes of Might & Magic, Songs of Conquest offers a visually stunning world to explore, along with equipment to enhance your capabilities. The game features four different campaigns, each showcasing the titular Songs of Conquest of the respective factions as you build your empire through strategic prowess.

For a one-time purchase of just $11.99, you can dive into this enchanting world of strategy, magic, and epic battles. With the mainline release already boasting four DLCs, there's a promising array of future content on the horizon.
