Initiating "For Science!"
To begin, locate Yaryk Mongoose within the Central Elevator area of the Chemical Plant. Upon approaching, you'll hear a radio call between Mongoose and Skif. Head left from the elevator, ascend the rusty stairs, and vault the railing to reach Mongoose on the first floor. He'll explain the need to activate a second measuring device atop a nearby silo, initiating the quest.
Reaching the Silo's Summit
Exit the room and climb to the building's roof. Dispatch any rodents encountered. Climb out a broken window and descend via an external ladder to the silo walkways. Equip your bolt-action weapon to counter electro anomalies. Proceed left along the silo's top to activate the second device.
Dealing with the Aftermath
Activating the device will attract Bloodsuckers. Choose to eliminate them or evade them to return to Mongoose. He'll explain the experiment's unforeseen consequences.
Confrontation and Rewards
You can choose to kill Mongoose or accept his explanation. Both options yield the Malachite Pass, granting access to the STC Malachite base (unless already accessible via main missions). Choosing the non-hostile route also provides additional rewards.
