Star Trek's resurgence since 2017's Star Trek: Discovery has been nothing short of phenomenal, culminating in the recent release of Star Trek: Section 31 on Paramount+. While Section 31 may not have met all expectations, the franchise boasts some truly exceptional entries. The contrasting reception of Section 31 and the acclaimed Strange New Worlds presents the perfect opportunity to rank the modern-era Star Trek series.
This ranking includes Section 31, despite its film format, due to its origins as a planned series. Below, you can create your own tier list and compare it to the IGN community's rankings. Is Strange New Worlds truly the best? Does Discovery deserve a higher ranking than its current placement? The decision is yours!
Modern Era Star Trek Series Ranking
Personally, I found Picard's third season a significant improvement, more than compensating for the shortcomings of the first two seasons, earning it an "A" in my ranking. Prodigy holds a special place for me, acting as the unexpected Voyager sequel I never knew I wanted, deserving at least a "B," possibly higher.
My personal tier list is shown below. Following this, you can find information on watching Star Trek in chronological order, updates on the live-action Star Trek comedy and Starfleet Academy series, and the latest on the status of Star Trek 4.
