Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld Sets Premiere in Fortnite 2 Days Before Disney+ Debut

by Lucas May 15,2025

Fans eager to dive into the first episodes of Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld will need to enter the world of Fortnite to catch the series premiere before it hits Disney+.

Epic Games has announced an exciting expansion of its Star Wars offerings, revealing that the initial two episodes of this animated spinoff will debut exclusively within Fortnite. This move is part of Epic's strategy to enhance its Star Wars content during the upcoming Galactic Battle season, which promises a plethora of themed rewards.

PlayStarting at 10 a.m. ET on May 2, fans can watch the premiere of **Tales of the Underworld** featuring Asajj Ventress on the Star Wars Watch Party island—two days ahead of its Disney+ release. Epic encourages fans to connect their Epic Games and MyDisney accounts, promising a First Order Stormtrooper outfit as a reward. While the full scope of benefits remains under wraps, Epic hints at more perks on the horizon.

“Disney and Epic are pioneering the future of social entertainment together, and this expansive Star Wars collaboration offers a glimpse into the type of interactive experiences we envision,” said Epic Games President Adam Sussman. “We are reimagining what’s possible with immersive storytelling in Fortnite with one of the world’s most beloved franchises - stay tuned for a lot more to come.”

The Star Wars Watch Party island will be available until May 11, allowing fans ample time to enjoy both episodes. Additionally, the island features a Battle Arena where players can engage in lightsaber combat against waves of enemies. Those who watch both episodes will be rewarded with an Asajj Ventress loading screen.

The official synopsis suggests Ventress will encounter a new opportunity for redemption and a new ally, while Bane is forced to confront his past.

Disney's collaboration with Fortnite extends beyond the Galactic Battle season. In March 2024, Disney acquired a $1.5 billion stake in Epic, setting the stage for long-term collaboration. This partnership will introduce more Star Wars, Marvel, and Pixar-themed outfits to the game, with highlights from the next season including Darth Jar Jar and Emperor Palpatine.

Since its launch in 2017, Fortnite has continued to lead the gaming industry. Recent collaborations, such as the one with Sabrina Carpenter, have kept the game fresh and exciting, encouraging players to trade their pickaxes for dancing shoes.
