Stardew Valley's Nintendo Switch Update: Addressing Divorce Crash and Raccoon Shop Issues
ConcernedApe, the developer of Stardew Valley, has confirmed that a much-anticipated patch for the Nintendo Switch version is on its way. This patch will address two prominent issues: a game-breaking crash related to divorce and problems affecting the raccoon shop.
While these bugs have already been resolved in the PC, mobile, and other console versions, the Switch update is currently undergoing final development. ConcernedApe assures players on social media that the release is imminent, stating it will be deployed "as soon as possible."
This news follows a previous announcement in December confirming the patch was in development. The delay is attributed to the complexities of optimizing the fix for the Nintendo Switch platform.
The highly popular Stardew Valley, released in 2016, has consistently received updates from ConcernedApe, adding new content and addressing player-reported bugs. Update 1.6, released in March for PC and later ported to other platforms, introduced numerous features, including new farm types, festivals, and visual enhancements. However, this update inadvertently introduced the divorce crash and raccoon shop issues that are now being rectified.
Despite the temporary inconvenience, the Stardew Valley community appreciates ConcernedApe's transparent communication and commitment to resolving these issues promptly. The upcoming Switch patch promises a smoother gameplay experience for players on Nintendo's platform.
