Subway Surfers City: A New Mobile Game from Sybo!

Surprise! Sybo Games, creators of the wildly popular Subway Surfers, have quietly released a new game, Subway Surfers City, in soft launch for iOS and Android devices. While a full hands-on review is pending, initial app store listings reveal a game boasting improved graphics and many features accumulated over the original's long lifespan.

This sequel to the beloved original (released in 2012) appears to address the aging engine of the original Subway Surfers. Subway Surfers City features returning characters, updated hoverboard mechanics, and significantly enhanced visuals.

Currently, the soft launch is limited to specific regions: iOS users in the UK, Canada, Denmark, Indonesia, Netherlands, and the Philippines can download it, while Android users in Denmark and the Philippines have access.

A Bold Move?

Sybo's decision to create a direct sequel to their flagship title is a significant risk. However, it's understandable; the original game's engine has limitations. The stealth launch is an intriguing approach, especially considering Subway Surfers' global popularity.

We eagerly await player reactions and the game's full release. In the meantime, check out our top five mobile games of the week or browse our ever-expanding list of the best mobile games of 2024!
