If you've been longing for a return to Tony Hawk's Underground, you're certainly not alone—Tony Hawk himself is actively pushing for a remake too.
"I've always got hopes," Hawk told ScreenRant. "It usually isn't my decision. I’ll advocate as much as I can, but I'm collaborating with a much larger company that knows better."
When asked whether Activision had hinted at what’s next after Pro Skater 3 + 4 launches, Hawk played his cards close to his chest, replying: "We haven't even put this game out [yet]!"
Tony Hawk's Underground originally launched in 2003, earning an impressive 9.2 review score from us back then thanks to its "virtually flawless" level design and "stellar gameplay." For the first time in the series, players could step off their skateboards and explore the sprawling environments on foot.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 is scheduled to launch for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, and Xbox One on July 11, 2025. Activision is curating the official THPS 3 + 4 playlist on Spotify and updating it regularly as more tracks are revealed—check the latest updates in our full soundtrack list here.
"At a time when it feels like every early 2000’s game is getting a modern makeover, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is shaping up to be a refreshing addition to a year packed with fantastic remakes and remasters," we noted in IGN's first impressions preview of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4.
"From its faithful re-creation of the PS2-era classics’ magic, to modern quality-of-life tweaks, a stellar soundtrack, and a heartfelt tribute to the series’ early years, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is definitely worth watching if you love skateboarding, action sports titles, or simply want fun, straightforward gameplay. It could be the smoothest kickflip you land all year."
