Pokémon TCG Sees Trainer's Pokémon Return in 2025

The Pokémon Company International made a splash at the 2024 Pokémon World Championships, revealing the exciting comeback of popular mechanics from the original Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG). Get ready for the return of Trainer's Pokémon and a potential Team Rocket resurgence in 2025!

No Official Release Date Yet, But the Hype is Real!

The announcement, accompanied by a captivating teaser trailer, showcased beloved trainers like Marnie, Lillie, and N alongside their Pokémon partners. The trailer featured Lillie’s Clefairy ex, Marnie’s Grimmsnarl ex, N’s Zoroark ex, and N’s Reshiram, giving us a glimpse of the nostalgic Trainer's Pokémon cards set to return. These cards, a hallmark of the early TCG, featured unique abilities and artwork.

The trailer also teased a possible Team Rocket comeback, showing Mewtwo alongside the iconic Team Rocket symbol. This fuels speculation about a dedicated Team Rocket card set, or even the return of Dark Pokémon, another beloved mechanic from the game's past. Rumors of a Japanese retailer listing and a trademark filing by The Pokémon Company ("The Glory of Team Rocket") further intensify this anticipation.
