Deadlock's Latest Update: Six Experimental Heroes Join the Fray

New Heroes, Name Changes, and Skill Sharing

Valve's Deadlock, a highly anticipated MOBA shooter, has consistently topped Steam's "Most Wishlisted" games since its mid-2024 launch. The recent "10-24-2024" update is the game's most significant yet, introducing six playable heroes, currently available only in Hero Sandbox mode.

These new heroes – Calico, Fathom (previously known as Slork), Holliday (also referred to as Astro in-game), Magician, Viper, and Wrecker – are not yet featured in casual or ranked PvP matches. While their complete skill sets are implemented, some skills are temporary placeholders, mirroring abilities from existing heroes. For instance, Magician's ultimate is a copy of Paradox's Paradoxical Swap.

The table below provides a preliminary overview of each hero's role and playstyle:

Hero Description
Calico A nimble, stealthy mid-to-frontline hero excelling in unseen flanking attacks.
Fathom A short-range burst assassin ideal for swift takedowns of key targets in close-quarters combat.
Holliday A mid-to-long-range DPS/Assassin specializing in precise headshots and explosive damage.
Magician A tactical, long-range DPS capable of projectile manipulation, teleportation, and position swapping with allies and enemies.
Viper A mid-to-long-range burst assassin who inflicts damage over time with venomous bullets, culminating in enemy petrification.
Wrecker A mid-to-close-range brawler who utilizes troopers and NPCs as both combat tools and projectiles.
