Marvel Rivals: Mastering Mister Fantastic, the Stretchy Strategist

Marvel Rivals delivers a thrilling hero-shooter experience, boasting diverse gameplay and stunning visuals. As the roster expands, new characters like Mister Fantastic, introduced in Season 1, reshape the meta. Mister Fantastic, a dualist, excels at mobility and damage, using his abilities to quickly reposition and contribute significantly to the team's offensive capabilities.

Mister Fantastic's Primary Attack: Stretch Punch

Mister Fantastic's primary attack, Stretch Punch, is a surprisingly versatile three-hit combo. The first two strikes utilize a single fist, while the final strike employs both. The stretched arm continues to deal damage as it travels, affecting all enemies in its path, creating effective area-of-effect damage. This makes it comparable to Storm's Wind Blade in its multi-target potential.

Mister Fantastic's Abilities

Mister Fantastic possesses a range of abilities, best explored in the training room, all contributing to his damage-boosting passive. He boasts 350 base health, augmented by shields for increased survivability. His Elasticity meter (visible beneath the crosshair) is key; each basic attack generates 5 Elasticity, aiming for 100 for maximum impact. He has a 3-star difficulty, making him challenging yet manageable for players of all skill levels.

  • Reflexive Rubber (Active, 12 seconds): Mister Fantastic transforms into a rectangular shape, absorbing incoming damage. Upon expiration, he unleashes stored damage in the direction of the reticle.

  • Flexible Elongation (Active, 3 seconds, 30 Elasticity): Grants a shield (increasing health to 425), pulling Mister Fantastic towards a target. Deals damage to enemies or provides a shield to allies, offering tactical flexibility. Features two charges.

  • Distended Grip (Active, 6 seconds, 30 Elasticity): Mister Fantastic grabs a target, offering two options: Dash (pulls him towards the target) or Impact (pulls the target towards him, dealing damage). Grappling a second enemy allows him to slam them together, damaging both.

  • Wedded Harmony (Team-Up, 20 seconds, with Invisible Woman): Heals Mister Fantastic for lost health (no shield provided). Synergizes well with Invisible Woman, a Strategist character.

  • Elastic Strength (Passive): Ability usage builds Elasticity, increasing damage output. At maximum Elasticity, Mister Fantastic undergoes a Hulk-like transformation, gaining significantly increased damage and a substantial shield. The shield decays after the transformation ends, but the damage boost encourages immediate offensive action.

  • Brainiac Bounce (Ultimate): Mister Fantastic leaps and crashes down, dealing area-of-effect damage, then bounces to repeat the attack multiple times. Highly effective against clustered enemies.

Tips for Playing Mister Fantastic

Mister Fantastic's tankiness stems from damage mitigation and readily available shields, further enhanced by his passive.

  • Flexible Reflection: Combining Flexible Elongation and Reflexive Rubber provides shields for both Mister Fantastic and an ally, allowing for immediate counter-attacks.

  • Rushing Reflexive Rubber: Using Reflexive Rubber strategically, even outside of maximizing Elastic Strength, allows for more frequent use of his powerful inflated state, combining objective control with high damage output. Stacking shields from Flexible Elongation before inflating can potentially reach a massive 950 health pool.

Mastering Mister Fantastic requires understanding his abilities and their synergies to unleash his full potential as a powerful and versatile dualist in Marvel Rivals.
