World of Warcraft's Extended Timewalking Extravaganza: Seven Weeks of Turbulent Timeways
World of Warcraft players are in for a treat! The Turbulent Timeways event is back, and this time it's even bigger. Running for seven consecutive weeks until February 24th, this event offers a non-stop Timewalking experience across various expansions.
Players can earn a wealth of rewards, including a substantial amount of Timewarped Badges, a significant experience boost, and new additions to the Timewalking vendor's inventory. Completing four Timewalking dungeons unlocks the Mastery of Timeways buff—a 20% experience increase—and achieving this buff for five out of the seven weeks grants the coveted Mastery of the Turbulent Timeways 2 achievement, rewarding players with the charming Timely Buzzbee mount.
This extended event builds upon the success of the initial Turbulent Timeways event in September 2023. While the previous event spanned five weeks, this iteration doubles down on the Timewalking fun, cycling through each expansion's Timewalking campaign in chronological order:
World of Warcraft Turbulent Timeways Event Schedule:
- January 7-13: Mists of Pandaria
- January 14-20: Warlords of Draenor
- January 21-27: Legion
- January 28-February 3: Classic
- February 4-10: The Burning Crusade
- February 11-17: Wrath of the Lich King
- February 18-24: Cataclysm
Beyond the Mastery of Timeways buff and the Timely Buzzbee mount, players can also acquire the Sandy Shalewing pet (previously available) and new permanent items from each expansion's Timewalking vendor. Furthermore, completing the weekly Timewalking dungeon quest yields Heroic-level gear throughout the event's duration.
The sheer scale of this event, coupled with the recently concluded 20th-anniversary event (which also featured extensive Timewalking), means players will be Timewalking for an incredible 18 consecutive weeks!
The Turbulent Timeways event's conclusion date also hints at future World of Warcraft plans. With the final Timewalking campaign ending on February 24th, and considering Blizzard's typical release schedule, February 25th is a strong contender for the launch of Patch 11.1, "Undermined." This aligns with a ten-week gap following Patch 11.0.7, setting the stage for a busy start to 2025 with the continuation of Plunderstorm, the first major content update for The War Within, and now, this extended Timewalking celebration.
