Following the release of Dynasty Warriors: Origins, Koei Tecmo unleashes another musou title, Warriors: Abyss, a fresh take on the genre. This new roguelite, featuring familiar faces from the Warriors franchise, is available now.
Showcased during today's PlayStation State of Play, Warriors: Abyss allows players to assemble a squad of iconic characters and battle relentless waves of enemies. The isometric perspective evokes the feel of Diablo and the acclaimed roguelite Hades.
Gameplay footage reveals team-based combat against demonic forces from "hell," with appearances from characters like Zhou Yu, Nobunaga Oda, and Sun Shang Xiang.
According to the PlayStation Blog, players can recruit and add characters to their team, unlocking additional summoning abilities. Battles support up to seven active heroes, with a launch roster boasting 100 warriors.
Koei Tecmo plans to expand the character roster with additions from the Jin kingdom in Dynasty Warriors, and has hinted at further expansions, even suggesting the possibility of characters from outside the Warriors series.
Warriors: Abyss is currently available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. A Nintendo Switch release is slated for February 13, 2025. Players seeking the in-game Dynasty Warriors Costume Set should purchase the game before March 14, 2025.
