Warzone Hit By Lobby Crashing Woes

by Mia Feb 02,2025

Call of Duty: Warzone players are experiencing game freezes and crashes during loading screens, sometimes resulting in unfair penalties. While a permanent fix is still in development, developers have implemented a temporary solution.

The Problem: Players reported widespread game freezes and crashes while loading into matches, leading to frustration and unwarranted penalties such as Skill Rating (SR) deductions and temporary match bans. This issue emerged despite a major game update earlier in January 2025.

The Developer Response: Raven Software acknowledged the problem on January 6th and initiated an investigation. On January 9th, they announced a temporary measure: Skill Rating penalties and timeouts are now suspended for players disconnecting before joining a Ranked match. Penalties remain in effect for players leaving mid-match.

Impact: This temporary fix alleviates the immediate frustration of unfair penalties for those experiencing the loading screen crashes. However, the underlying bug persists, and the continued presence of bugs following the recent major update is a source of ongoing concern for players. The situation highlights the ongoing challenges faced by the development team in maintaining a stable and fair gaming experience.

The temporary suspension of penalties is a positive step, but a complete resolution of the underlying crashing issue remains a priority for both the developers and the player community.
