Piston puts your vehicle's diagnostic information right at your fingertips.

Is your Check Engine Light (MIL) illuminated? Use Piston to transform your mobile device into a car scanner, reading Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and Freeze Frame data to help identify and resolve issues.

Simply connect a Bluetooth or WiFi ELM327-based adapter to your vehicle's OBD2 port. Piston guides you through the setup process, with instructions accessible from the Home page after initial installation or anytime via Settings.

With Piston you can:

• Review Freeze Frame data (sensor readings captured when the ECU detected a malfunction)

To function as a car scanner, this application requires a separate Bluetooth or WiFi ELM327-based device. Piston supports OBD-II (also known as OBDII or OBD2) and EOBD standards.

All vehicles sold in the United States since 1996 must support OBD2 standards.

In the European Union, EOBD became mandatory for petrol vehicles from 2001 and diesel vehicles from 2004. Australia and New Zealand require OBD2 for all petrol cars manufactured from 2006 and diesel cars from 2007.

Important: This application can only access data that your vehicle supports and provides through the OBD2 standard.
