Meridiem Games' Twitter (X) announcement revealed the cancellation due to unforeseen technical hurdles in localizing the game for multiple European languages. While the publisher offered no further details regarding these issues, the cancellation follows a string of frustrating delays.
Initially slated for a March 2023 release, the European physical edition was pushed back to December 2023, then to March 2024, and finally to January 2025. Pre-orders through retailers like Amazon were repeatedly delayed, ultimately resulting in the complete cancellation.
This is a significant blow to European fans, particularly those eagerly awaiting an officially localized version in Spanish and other languages. While digital versions remain available, the only way to obtain a physical copy is through importing a US release.
Omori is a critically acclaimed RPG centered on Sunny, a young boy coping with the aftermath of a traumatic event.
