Le Musée des Fossiles de Pokémon Amènera en Amérique du Nord Prochainement Des Fossiles Vrais et Faux de Pokémon

The Pokémon Company has officially announced that the Pokémon Fossil Museum will arrive in North America this May 2026.

Curious about what the Pokémon Fossil Museum actually entails? It lives up to its name. Following its successful launch in Japan, this unique exhibition juxtaposes fictional Pokémon "fossils" with genuine ancient creatures discovered through real-world paleontology. The exhibit is set to open at Chicago's Field Museum on May 22, 2026, marking the first time it has traveled outside of Japan.

"During your visit, you’ll see vibrant Pokémon models side by side with extinct lifeforms from the Field Museum’s collection — including scientific casts of Field Museum dinosaurs like SUE the T. rex and the Chicago Archaeopteryx next to Fossil Pokémon like Tyrantrum and Archeops," explained the museum. "How many differences (and similarities) will you spot, Trainers?"

For those unable to travel from Japan or Chicago, The Pokémon Company and the Toyohashi Museum of Natural History have made it possible to explore the Pokémon Fossil Museum from home. Fans can now take a virtual tour of the exhibit, showcasing both real fossils—such as those of tyrannosaurus—and their fictional counterparts like Tyrantrum.

In other Pokémon news, we recently reported that police in the UK arrested a man after discovering he was storing stolen Pokémon cards worth £250,000 (approximately $332,500). The collection was uncovered following a raid by Greater Manchester Police on a residence in Hyde, Tameside. A police spokesperson quipped: "Gotta catch 'em all."
