Wuthering Waves' elemental system has evolved significantly in Version 2.0. Initially, elements provided character buffs and enemy resistances, but lacked deep team synergies. The update introduces Elemental Effects, allowing for more direct interactions beyond passive enhancements.
Elemental Effects: Status Effects and Debuffs
Elemental Effects, previously limited to enemy application, now impact players. Each element has a unique effect:
Elemental Effect | Effect Description |
---|---|
Havoc Bane | Stacks periodically, up to 2. At 2 stacks, deals Havoc DMG and reapplies to nearby characters. |
Glacio Chafe | Reduces movement speed per stack, freezing at 10 stacks. Players can "Struggle" to speed up thawing. |
Spectro Frazzle | Stacks reduce periodically, dealing Spectro DMG. More stacks = more DMG over time. |
Fusion Burst | Stacks up to 10, exploding for Fusion DMG at max stacks. |
Aero Erosion | Deals Aero DMG periodically. Stacks don't deplete to deal damage. More stacks = more DMG over time. |
Electro Flare | Reduces ATK by 5% (1-4 stacks), 7% (5-9 stacks, plus Magnetized effect), or 10% (10 stacks). |
Dodging removes all effect stacks.
Resonators, Echoes, and Echo Sets
Currently, Elemental Effect utilization is limited. Only a few Resonators, Echoes, and Echo Sets interact with them:
Resonators Applying Elemental Effects:
Only Spectro Rover, post-Version 2.0 rework, applies Elemental Effects. Its Resonance Skill's Resonating Spin variant applies 2 stacks of Spectro Frazzle, also applying a Shimmer effect to prevent stack decay, maximizing Spectro Frazzle uptime.
Echoes and Echo Sets:
Currently, only the Eternal Radiance Echo Set benefits from Elemental Effects, primarily enhancing Spectro Rover.
- Eternal Radiance (Echo Set): 2pc: +10% Spectro DMG. 5pc: Spectro Frazzle increases Crit. Rate by 20% for 15s; 10 stacks grant a 15% Spectro DMG Bonus for 15s.
- Nightmare (Echo): Deals 273.60% Spectro DMG. DMG to Spectro Frazzle-affected enemies increased by 100%. Provides 12.00% Spectro DMG Bonus.
While the game hints at broader Elemental Effect integration, its current application remains largely centered around Spectro Rover and the Eternal Radiance set.
