"Now You See Me 3 Renamed, Sequel Confirmed"

by Aaron May 25,2025

Big news for fans of the Now You See Me franchise: Lionsgate has officially announced that the third installment will be titled Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, set to hit theaters on November 14, 2025. In an even more exciting development, a fourth film is already in the works, as revealed by Adam Fogelson, chair of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, during CinemaCon.

Director Ruben Fleischer, known for his work on films like Zombieland, Uncharted, and Venom, has signed on to both develop and direct Now You See Me 4. The franchise, which has grossed over $700 million globally, continues to captivate audiences with its blend of action and heist elements.

The first two films featured stars such as Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, and Morgan Freeman. The third installment, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, will see the return of Eisenberg and Harrelson, joined by new talents Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, Ariana Greenblatt, and Rosamund Pike.

Bobby Cohen, the original developer and producer of the series, will again produce alongside Alex Kurtzman of Secret Hideout, with Meredith Wieck overseeing the project for Lionsgate.

Adam Fogelson praised Fleischer's work on the third film, noting, "Ruben has delivered all of the twists and turns and sleight-of-hand that audiences expect from this franchise while upping the stakes and scale in every way. We can’t wait for audiences to discover what he’s done with the third film and are thrilled he’ll be making even more magic with us."

Fleischer himself expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "Directing Now You See Me: Now You Don’t was as much fun as making any movie in my career. It combines two of my favorite things — heist movies and magic — and working with this incredible cast was truly magical. Of course I want to keep it going."

Past reviews of the series have been mixed. IGN's review of the original Now You See Me gave it a 6.3/10, criticizing its "smarmy, shallow characters and a flimsy, nonsensical plot." The sequel, Now You See Me 2, received a slightly lower score of 6.2/10, with IGN noting that it was "all flash and no substance."

With the franchise continuing to expand, fans can look forward to more thrilling magic and heists in the upcoming films.
