Summary

  • Zombies in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will get a co-op pause feature in Season 2.
  • AFK Kick Loadout Recovery will allow players to rejoin with their original loadout.
  • Separate HUD presets for multiplayer and Zombies will enhance the user experience.

Exciting new details have emerged about the upcoming Season 2 update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, with several features set to enhance the popular Zombies mode. This news comes as part of a teaser for Season 2, which is just around the corner.

Since its debut in World at War over a decade ago, Zombies has remained a cornerstone of the Call of Duty franchise. In Black Ops 6, the round-based Zombies mode is back, and Treyarch is focused on delivering captivating new environments for players to explore. The game is poised to introduce several updates that will further elevate the Zombies experience.

While Season 2 will bring significant changes for multiplayer enthusiasts, Zombies players can look forward to a host of new features. In addition to the new Tomb map, Zombies fans will enjoy a variety of enhancements, including UI improvements and other long-awaited additions. A key feature is the co-op pause option, allowing players in the same party to pause the game collectively. This feature, which has been highly requested, adds a new layer of convenience to Zombies gameplay.

Call of Duty Reveals Black Ops 6 Zombies Changes for Season 2

  • Challenge Tracking & Near Completion (Zombies and Multiplayer)

    • Manually track up to 10 Calling Card Challenges and 10 Camo Challenges per mode to easily monitor your progress.
    • If you have fewer than 10 tracked Challenges, slots will automatically display the nearest Challenges to completion, helping you identify and complete them more efficiently.
    • The top Tracked or Near Completion Calling Card Challenge and Camo Challenge will be visible in the Lobby and in-game via the Options Menu.
  • Co-op Pause

    • In matches where all players are in the same party, the party leader can now pause the game, allowing everyone to regroup, strategize, or take a break during high-round runs. This long-requested feature is finally making its debut in Season 2.
  • AFK Kick Loadout Recovery

    • If a player is kicked for being AFK during a co-op game, they can now rejoin and recover their original loadout. This feature is designed to minimize frustration for players who are unexpectedly removed from games, preserving their progression, weapons, perks, and points.
  • Separate HUD Presets for Zombies and Multiplayer

    • Players can now set up distinct HUD Preset settings for Zombies and multiplayer, eliminating the need to switch settings between modes. This feature, although delayed due to other priorities, aims to enhance the user experience by allowing personalized setups for each mode.

Alongside the co-op pause feature, "AFK Kick Loadout Recovery" enables players to rejoin matches with their original loadout after being kicked for inactivity. This is crucial for maintaining progression in Zombies, as losing weapons, perks, and points can be a significant setback. This feature addresses frustrations caused by premature or unintended disconnections.

Players will also benefit from the ability to create separate HUD presets for multiplayer and Zombies, streamlining the transition between modes without the hassle of adjusting settings. Additionally, the ability to manually track up to 10 Calling Card Challenges and Camo Challenges for both multiplayer and Zombies will make progressing through Black Ops 6's extensive collection of cards more straightforward and user-friendly.

Season 2 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is set to launch on January 28, 2025.
