Unlocking the Secrets of the Lion's Crest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
This guide details how to initiate and complete the bonus quest, "The Lion's Crest," available to those who pre-ordered Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. This quest rewards players with valuable items.
Starting the Lion's Crest Quest:
Once you've finished the tutorial and gained access to the open world, locate the scribe Gaibl in Troskowitz. He will present you with a riddle and the smithing recipe for Brunswick's polearm. You'll need to gather the necessary materials yourself, then craft the weapon at a blacksmith's forge.
Solving the Riddle:
The riddle provided by Gaibl is as follows:
"Take your leave of crone and maiden, standing tall behind the gates, boldly go towards true midnight, in caverns cold your prize awaits. Pass through the hall of forest kings, hidden deep from hunters’ gaze, standing tall two guards of stone, behind who yearned for treasure lays. Between then stands a mighty rock, a subtle niche yet deeper still, a place to give one’s heart to God, behold my armour gleaming still."
The solution involves leaving Trosky Castle via the northern gates, heading north through the forest, and locating a cave containing a chapel. Examine the cross near the chapel to find the first piece of Brunswick's armor and two treasure maps.
Locating the Armor Pieces (using the Treasure Maps):
The maps lead you to various locations:
Map 1: Follow the road west from the chapel to a crossroads, then head north into the woods to a wolf den. The armor piece is in a bag near the trees above the den.
Map 2: Travel to the Vidlak Pond outpost. Behind the fisherman's house, find a large rock formation along the cliffs. A chest containing the armor piece is near a cross on the rocks.
Map 3: Fast travel to Zhelejov, leave the tavern, and cross two bridges towards Tachov. Take a small path leading to the river and forest after the second bridge. Follow this path to a hill; the armor is in a bag near a large tree at the hilltop.
Map 4: This map directs you to a hill between the Nomads' Camp and Bozhena's Hut. Look for rocks with a cross; the final armor piece is there.
Completing the Quest:
Once all four armor pieces are collected, the Lion's Crest quest is complete.
