A charming new game, Cato: Buttered Cat, is launching on Android! The name itself is a playful combination of "cat" and "toast," perfectly reflecting the game's unique premise.
Ever wonder what happens when you attach buttered toast to a cat's back? The developers of Cato: Buttered Cat did, and the result is a perpetually spinning feline in a delightful anti-gravity loop!
Initially conceived for the 2022 BOOOM Gamejam (hosted by GCORES) by Team Woll, the positive reception led to its full development. Currently available on Steam for PC, the game is soon heading to Android and other platforms. While the Google Play Store listing isn't live yet, you can pre-register via the official TapTap page for the Android version.
Gameplay in Cato: Buttered Cat:
This puzzle platformer lets you control both a cat and a piece of buttered toast. Work together to solve puzzles, overcome enemies, and explore whimsical worlds.
Explore five distinct worlds filled with quirky contraptions and 200 levels (including side quests). Uncover a hidden narrative woven throughout the levels, and customize your cat with 30 unique outfits.
The interaction between the cat and toast is a highlight. The cat exhibits typical feline agility, while the toast serves as a projectile, allowing you to launch it to help the cat reach otherwise inaccessible areas.
The game also boasts hidden rooms and numerous Easter eggs. Check out the trailer below for a sneak peek!
I eagerly await the Android release! In the meantime, check out our coverage of Operation Lucent Arrowhead, the Arknights x Rainbow Six Siege crossover.
