Civilization VII: A Roadmap to Global Domination
Civilization VII's launch is imminent, slated for February 11th, with early access for Deluxe and Founders Edition owners beginning February 6th. The game will be available across all major platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, including Steam Deck compatibility. A day-one patch is also planned.
Firaxis Games and 2K have declared the game "gold," signifying the completion of primary development and a commitment to the release date, barring unforeseen issues. This marks a significant milestone for the long-awaited title, widely considered a benchmark in turn-based 4X strategy gaming.
The initial DLC, "Crossroads of the World," arrives in March, split into two releases. The first introduces Great Britain and Carthage as playable civilizations, along with the pioneering computer scientist Ada Lovelace as a new leader. Three weeks later, the second installment adds Simon Bolivar as a leader and introduces Bulgaria and Nepal as new civilizations.
Further expansion is promised with "Right to Rule," a DLC scheduled for release in Q2 or Q3 2025 (April-September). This expansion will include two additional leaders, four new civilizations, and fresh natural wonders.
Enhancements planned for the near future include new in-game events and natural wonders, such as the Bermuda Triangle and Mount Everest, launching in March. Firaxis is committed to enhancing the gameplay experience with ongoing additions and improvements.
