Unveiled at Tokyo Game Show 2024's Xbox showcase, *Threads of Time* is currently in development for Xbox Series X/S and Steam. While a release date remains unannounced, PS5 and Nintendo Switch versions are also yet to be confirmed.Generating significant pre-release buzz, Threads of Time is poised to rival Sea of Stars as a spiritual successor to Square Enix's Chrono series. This retro-styled debut from Riyo Games blends classic charm with modern features.
"Riyo Games aims to create retro-inspired RPGs that evoke cherished childhood memories," the studio stated in its press release. "Our journey began with a childhood promise—two friends playing RPGs on a CRT TV, vowing to one day create their own epic adventures."
Boasting stunning 2.5D pixel art, Threads of Time features a diverse cast of characters journeying through various eras, from dinosaurs to robots. The overarching narrative unravels a time-altering conspiracy. Complementing the pixel art is the inclusion of high-quality anime cutscenes, enriching the game's intricate storyline.
