How To Craft & Use Gems In Dynasty Warriors: Origins

Dynasty Warriors: Origins - Gem Crafting and Pyroxene Locations

Boost your character's power in Dynasty Warriors: Origins by crafting and upgrading Gems! Gems provide passive buffs and can be equipped at any time, offering a significant advantage, especially on harder difficulties. This guide covers gem crafting, upgrading, and Pyroxene acquisition.

Crafting and Leveling Up Gems

Gem crafting utilizes Pyroxene and is accessible at any Inn or tent. In your room, select "Create Gems" (the second option from the top). You can use any number of Pyroxene, with a 1:1 ratio for gem creation. Five unique gems are craftable, each with a random chance of appearing with each Pyroxene used.

Initially crafted gems are level 1 and equippable via the Battle Preparations menu. Crafting duplicates provides experience points (XP) to the base gem, increasing its potency with each level. For broad improvement, use all your Pyroxene at once.

For targeted gem acquisition, try the "Eyes of the Sacred Bird" effect. Crafting a single gem sometimes triggers this, limiting the random selection to three specific gems for all subsequent Pyroxene use. Cancel this effect by exiting and re-entering the gem crafting menu. While tedious, crafting one gem at a time increases the chances of triggering "Eyes of the Sacred Bird" for your desired gem. Note that "Eyes of the Sacred Bird" reduces, but doesn't eliminate, randomness.

Gem Name Passive Boost
Oblivion Gem Expands attack range.
Vortex Gem Boosts damage to airborne enemies.
Scorch Gem Boosts damage against parried enemies.
Wellspring Gem Restores health per 100 enemies defeated.
Ascendance Gem Chance to automatically block officer attacks.

Locating Pyroxene

Pyroxene appears as orange crystals scattered throughout the overworld. Each crystal yields one Pyroxene upon interaction, disappearing afterward. Pyroxene respawns after skirmishes or battles, encouraging exploration of previously visited areas. Letters read in your Inn or tent room occasionally reward Pyroxene as well.
