The highly anticipated Days Gone Remastered is on the horizon, and Sony's Bend Studio has just shared a detailed look at the accessibility features that will enhance the gameplay experience. One of the standout features is the ability to adjust the Game Speed, which can be slowed down to 75%, 50%, or even 25% of the normal speed. This option is designed to help players who might feel overwhelmed during intense moments, particularly when battling hordes of Freakers. According to Kevin McAllister, Bend Studio's Creative & Product Lead, this feature is especially important with the introduction of the new Horde Assault mode in the remaster, aiming to make this unique combat experience more accessible.
In addition to the Game Speed adjustment, Days Gone Remastered will offer a variety of other accessibility options. Players can customize subtitle colors, utilize a High Contrast Mode, benefit from UI Narration, and hear Collectible Audio Cues. The auto-complete QTE feature, which was previously exclusive to the Easy difficulty setting, will now be available across all difficulty levels from Easy to Survival II.
Bend Studio has also confirmed that most of these new accessibility features will be available in the PC version of Days Gone. However, some features like feedback and control customization will require a compatible controller.
Days Gone Remastered was officially announced in February, promising additional enhancements such as an improved photo mode, permadeath and speedrun options, alongside the new accessibility features. This remastered version of the 2019 post-apocalyptic zombie action-adventure game is set to launch on April 25, 2025. Owners of the PS4 version of Days Gone will have the opportunity to upgrade to the PS5 remastered edition for just $10.
