Helldivers 2 is preparing to share some significant news, and developer Arrowhead Game Studios appears confident it will make a strong impression. As the studio's CEO puts it, players might want to brace themselves.
As noted by VideoGamer, Arrowhead CEO Shams Jorjani was chatting about Helldivers 2 in the game's official Discord server. When a community member asked if he could "offer any hint, however small, about what's coming," his response was direct:
"You'll be absolutely floored."
While the details remain under wraps, this certainly hints at the potential impact of the upcoming reveal—and the possible effect on one's composure.
Jorjani also addressed other questions, notably expressing interest in adding more melee weapons and offering thoughtful replies to concerns about content gaps. The team's open discussion about managing the technical challenges of a live-service game like Helldivers 2 is refreshing, especially alongside such memorable quips.
We've already seen a teaser involving a flag with both a pointed end and a textured grip. Currently, Arrowhead is targeting May 8 to unveil its next Warbond, with "more exciting news to follow shortly after."
In a recent IGN interview, Arrowhead's production director Alex Bolle stated the studio aims to support the game for "many, many years to come." The team is committed to evolving Helldivers 2 while staying authentic to its creative vision.
"As we get better at thriving in a live-service environment—and we still have plenty to learn—we can give creativity more room to explore new systems we hadn't even considered a year ago at launch," Bolle told IGN. "Having worked on live games before, you reach a point where you can experiment: What if we adapted a great idea from another game into our own unique style, keeping it true to who we are? I'm really looking forward to that phase."
We'll begin to discover what exciting plans Arrowhead has for Helldivers 2 starting next week. You might want to keep some spare trousers handy.
