Death Stranding 2 Development Updates
New Feature Allows Players To Clear Bosses Without Combat
Death Stranding 2: On The Beach (DS2) introduces a groundbreaking feature that lets players bypass traditional boss fights. In the latest episode of Koji Pro radio broadcasts on April 14, DS2 Director Hideo Kojima unveiled this player-friendly option.
Kojima detailed that players facing a game over during a boss fight can opt to press "continue," which will allow them to move forward in the game without defeating the boss. Instead of combat, the game will present the narrative through images and text, akin to a visual novel. This approach ensures that even players who struggle with combat can experience the full story of DS2.
Death Stranding 2 Around 95% Complete
Hideo Kojima recently shared that Death Stranding 2 is approximately 95% complete. He likened the development stage to "10 o’clock (PM)" on a 24-hour clock, indicating that only a couple of hours remain before the project is fully realized.
Set to continue directly from the events of the original game, DS2 has generated significant buzz. At last month's South by South West (SXSW) event, Kojima Productions and Sony provided a glimpse into the game's narrative and new characters through a captivating 10-minute trailer. Fans were particularly excited to spot a character resembling Solid Snake, along with other intriguing story elements and new gameplay features.
The SXSW presentation also highlighted DS2’s collector’s edition and pre-order bonuses. For those eager to learn more about pre-orders and additional downloadable content (DLC), be sure to check out our detailed article below!
