Deltarune Chapters 3 & 4: Console Testing Update and Save Transfer
Undertale creator Toby Fox recently provided an update on the testing phase for Deltarune Chapters 3 and 4. Console testing is progressing smoothly, although significant work remains. Fox noted that PS5 testing hasn't even begun yet. Beyond bug fixes, the team is actively working on a crucial feature: save transfer from the Chapters 1 and 2 demo to the full release. This functionality, made possible by recently acquired technology, will allow players to continue their progress seamlessly. "I hope it works!" Fox stated.
With beta testing proceeding well, a release date may be imminent. Fox previously confirmed a 2025 release window for Chapters 3 and 4.
A New Character Emerges: Tenna
Amidst the development, Fox shared humorous anecdotes. He revealed that a minigame he's working on was described by friends and family as "a cry for help because your game is not out." While his family found this positive, a friend's reaction was ten minutes of unrestrained laughter. This sparked speculation that the minigame might be intended for Chapter 5, given Fox's earlier statement that Chapters 3 and 4 were content-complete in 2024.
More intriguingly, Fox mentioned a fan's comment, "I miss Tenna," prompting his response, "man that's something no one in the world has ever said huh." Tenna, a previously unseen character first hinted at during the Spamton Sweepstakes in September 2022, is now confirmed to appear in Chapter 3.
Deltarune, the spiritual successor to Undertale, continues to build anticipation. Players will once again join Kris, Susie, and Ralsei on their world-saving adventure.
