Divinity: Original Sin 2 - How to Get to Bloodmoon Island

Reaching Bloodmoon Island in Divinity: Original Sin 2

Bloodmoon Island, shrouded in Deathfog and with its connecting bridge destroyed, presents a significant challenge in Divinity: Original Sin 2. This guide outlines several methods to overcome this obstacle and access the island's quests and storyline advancements.

Method 1: The Spirit Bridge

The remnants of the destroyed bridge lie northeast of Cloisterwood, near Jahan and Witch Alice. Using Spirit Vision reveals the broken pathways. Crossing requires:

  1. Gloves of Teleportation: These allow teleporting party members individually across the gaps.
  2. Translocation Skills: Skills like Phoenix Dive, Cloak and Dagger, or Tactical Retreat enable teleporting, but may be limited by party composition.
  3. Teleporter Pyramids: Two pyramids allow one character to cross using translocation, then the rest teleport to their location.
  4. Fast Travel: One character crosses, establishes the Bloodmoon Island waypoint, allowing the rest to fast travel.

Method 2: The Undead Ferry

Located northwest of Cloisterwood, an undead ferryman offers passage across the Deathfog. However, this is a trap:

  • With Fane: Only Fane (being undead and immune to Deathfog) survives the crossing. He establishes the waypoint, allowing the rest to fast travel.
  • Without Fane: Use two Teleporter Pyramids. One companion takes the ferry (dying upon arrival), the second pyramid teleports the party to them, after which resurrection is required. This method is less efficient than using the bridge.

Avoiding the Ferryman's Retaliation

It's strongly advised to avoid attacking the Undead Ferryman, as his Deathfog spell is lethal. If engaging him, save your game beforehand. Defeating him yields a Soothing Cold skillbook, a belt, and 3750 XP. The bridge remains the most efficient route for parties lacking Fane.
