Freedom Wars Remastered thrusts players into a gripping dystopian future, where they, known as Sinners, battle monstrous Abductors to safeguard humanity. Enhancing combat prowess is key, and players can do so by upgrading their weapons and accessories. Upgrading not only boosts base stats but also allows the addition of modules for various enhancements.
Early in the game, players have the opportunity to upgrade their weapons, freeing them from reliance on mission rewards or enemy drops. This guide provides comprehensive insights into upgrading both weapons and accessories in Freedom Wars Remastered.
How To Upgrade Weapons In Freedom Wars Remastered
To elevate your weapons in Freedom Wars Remastered, you'll need to advance through the main storyline until you achieve Level 002 Code Clearance. Upon reaching this milestone, CODE 2 Sinners unlock the Facility Management Function through the Personal Responsibility Portal. Here, in the Weapon Development Facility, you can oversee all your weaponry. Upgrading demands specific resources and your valuable Entitlement Points, but you can lower these costs by recruiting a Citizen. A range of Citizens is available, each with a different reduction rate based on their Facility Manager Aptitude. The system may seem intricate at first glance, but it becomes straightforward with a bit of practice.
Before proceeding with an upgrade, you'll be presented with a screen showing how your weapon's stats will change post-upgrade. The Weapon Development Facility also lets you experiment with Elements, Modules, and Module Slots. To advance a weapon to a higher Grade, you must acquire the necessary permit from the Claim Entitlement tab in the Window of Liberty.
Should You Upgrade Weapons In Freedom Wars Remastered?
In the initial phases of the main story, missions tend not to yield high-Grade weapons as rewards. While Zakka in The Warren offers weapons and combat items for purchase, these are generally capped at Grade Level 1, making weapon upgrades almost indispensable. Furthermore, one of your CODE 3 Exams mandates securing higher Grade Development Facility Permits. With these permits, you can upgrade your preferred weapon and maintain it, using any Low-Grade weapons found during missions to shorten your sentence and earn additional Entitlement Points.
The initial upgrade at the Weapon Development Facility triggers the "In Search of the Strongest Weapon" trophy/achievement, with further achievements linked to the upgrading process, making it an enticing pursuit for trophy hunters. The stark damage disparity between weapons of different Grades underscores the importance of dedicating time to gear improvement.
Lastly, while the Ability Development Facility within Facility Management unlocks later in the game, it offers yet another avenue for enhancing your combat capabilities.
