Sony Interactive Entertainment and Santa Monica Studio have announced the Dark Odyssey collection, a major God of War Ragnarök expansion launching next week featuring premium cosmetics inspired by one of the franchise's most legendary outfits.
The gaming giant outlined its ambitious 20th anniversary celebration plans via PlayStation Blog, with Dark Odyssey emerging as the centerpiece. This free update releasing March 20 brings a treasure trove of visual upgrades for all Ragnarök players across PlayStation 5 and PC platforms.
The premium Dark Odyssey collection introduces sophisticated black-and-gold aesthetics that promise to elevate Kratos' Norse adventure to new visual heights. Character companions Atreus and Freya receive matching cosmetic sets alongside extensive weapon and shield customizations.
The crown jewel is Kratos' Dark Odyssey armor set - a call-back to the exclusive God Mode reward skin from God of War II. Players can claim these items through standard Lost Items chests or instantly in Valhalla mode post-update. Notably, this patch finally introduces visual weapon customization without compromising gameplay mechanics.
