Ever downloaded an app and promptly forgotten about it? While I haven't experienced this personally, the Google Play Store might have the perfect solution. A new feature in the works could automatically launch apps upon installation.
What's the Deal?
According to Android Authority, Google Play is developing a feature to streamline app installation. This would automatically open newly downloaded apps, eliminating the need to hunt for the icon. The app would launch instantly upon completion of the download process.
This feature, currently unconfirmed, was discovered through an APK teardown of Play Store version 41.4.19. While there's no official announcement or release date, it's reportedly called "App Auto Open" and will be entirely optional. Users can choose whether to enable or disable this auto-launch functionality.
The process is simple: a notification banner will appear for about five seconds after an app finishes downloading. Your phone may also ring or vibrate, ensuring you won't miss the notification.
This information is unofficial, so a release date remains unknown. We'll update you as soon as Google provides more details.
