Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, has reaffirmed that *Grand Theft Auto 6* is slated for a fall 2025 release. In its financial results for the third quarter ending December 31, 2024, Take-Two listed GTA 6 as coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S within that timeframe, signaling that the game remains on track without any delays.
Speaking to IGN before the release of these financial results, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick acknowledged the inherent risks of development but expressed strong confidence in meeting the fall 2025 window. "Look, there's always a risk of slippage and I think as soon as you say words like absolutely, you jinx things," Zelnick noted. "So we feel really good about it."
When pressed for details on the development progress of GTA 6, Zelnick remained tight-lipped, emphasizing the excitement and anticipation surrounding the project. "Look, I think the game is eagerly anticipated both internally and externally," he stated. "We know that Rockstar seeks perfection. I never claim success before it occurs. I'm fond of saying arrogance is the enemy of continued success, so we're all running scared and looking over our shoulders and we know that the competition is not asleep. Our whole organization is super excited."
The release date of GTA 6 continues to be a focal point of interest across the entertainment industry, with competitors keenly watching Rockstar's next move. EA CEO Andrew Wilson recently hinted at possibly adjusting the release schedule of the new Battlefield game to avoid direct competition with GTA 6.
