GTA 6 Trailer 2: Record-Breaking Launch, Says Rockstar

by Patrick May 22,2025

Rockstar Games has announced that the GTA 6 Trailer 2 has shattered records by becoming the biggest video launch of all time. According to their statement to The Hollywood Reporter, the trailer amassed a staggering 475 million views across all platforms within its first 24 hours. This surpasses even the most successful movie trailer launches, such as Deadpool & Wolverine, which garnered 365 million views, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which achieved 200 million views in the same timeframe. Last year's Superman trailer, which previously held the title for the most-viewed trailer in DC and Warner Bros. history with over 250 million views, has now been eclipsed by GTA 6 Trailer 2.

It's interesting to note that the first trailer for GTA 6 had already set a benchmark, achieving 93 million views on its debut day exclusively on YouTube, making it the platform's largest non-music video launch. As of this article's publication on May 8, GTA 6 Trailer 2 has garnered 85,276,196 views on Rockstar’s official YouTube channel.

Following the release of GTA 6 Trailer 2, IGN reported a significant surge in Spotify streams for The Pointer Sisters’ track Hot Together, used in the trailer. The song experienced an astonishing 182,000% increase in global streams within the first two hours post-trailer premiere. Spotify’s Global Head of Editorial, Sulinna Ong, highlighted the cultural impact of the Grand Theft Auto series, stating, “Music has been synonymous with the series since the very beginning, so it’s great to see fans both new and established connecting with an iconic track in this way.”

The release of GTA 6 Trailer 2 comes after the game's high-profile delay from fall 2025 to May 26, 2026. With such massive interest in its trailers, GTA 6 is poised to set new records not only within the video game industry but across all entertainment sectors. The Hollywood Reporter mentioned that Rockstar is believed to have invested over $1 billion in the development of GTA 6, indicating the immense pressure to deliver a groundbreaking experience. However, the enthusiastic response to the trailers suggests that GTA 6 is on track for unprecedented success.
