"Guide to Catching Shroodle in Pokemon GO"

by Benjamin May 23,2025

The new year has brought a wave of excitement to *Pokemon GO* trainers with a slew of new Pokemon to catch. Following the addition of Fidough, Shroodle, the Toxic Mouse Pokemon, is set to join the fray—but acquiring it won't be as simple as finding it in the wild.

When Did Shroodle Come to Pokemon GO?

Shroodle made its grand entrance into Pokemon GO on January 15, 2025, as part of the Fashion Week: Taken Over event. This creature, first introduced in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, adds a fresh face to the Pokemon universe. Post its debut event, Shroodle will remain available for trainers to collect.

Can Shroodle Be Shiny?

At its release, Shroodle will not have a Shiny variant available in Pokemon GO. Fans can look forward to its Shiny form being introduced in a future event, possibly one focused on Poison-type Pokemon or Team GO Rocket activities.

How To Get Shroodle in Pokemon GO

The trend of debut Pokemon not appearing as wild spawns continues with Shroodle. Instead of encountering it on your Nearby radar, you'll need to hatch Shroodle from 12KM eggs. Currently, hatching from 12KM eggs is the sole method to obtain Shroodle in Pokemon GO.

12KM eggs collected from 12 AM local time on January 15 onwards may hatch into Shroodle. The chances of hatching one will likely increase during the Fashion Week: Taken Over event, but Shroodle should remain part of the 12KM egg pool afterward.

How To Get 12K Eggs

Given that Shroodle is exclusively hatchable from 12K eggs, a quick refresher on acquiring these eggs in Pokemon GO is in order. 12K eggs are among the rarer types, and there's only one way to obtain them.

You can earn 12K eggs by defeating Team GO Rocket Leaders or Giovanni in battle. The Taken Over event presents a prime opportunity to amass these eggs, with Team GO Rocket's increased presence and easier access to Rocket Radars. However, you can challenge GO Rocket Grunts to face Sierra, Arlo, and Cliff anytime, securing a 12K egg if you have the space in your inventory.

How To Get Grafaiai in Pokemon GO

Shroodle's evolution, Grafaiai, also debuted in Pokemon GO on January 15. Unlike Shroodle, Grafaiai doesn't hatch from eggs or appear in the wild; the only way to obtain one is by evolving a Shroodle.

Evolving Shroodle into Grafaiai requires 50 Shroodle Candies. To gather the necessary candies, you'll need to hatch multiple Shroodle or designate it as your buddy Pokemon.

Pokemon GO is available to play now.
