"Hearthstone Unveils Emerald Dream Expansion"

by Oliver Apr 23,2025

If you've been keeping up with the Pocket Gamer team's weekly Wrapps, you're probably aware of my recent dive into Hearthstone—and it looks like I'll need to step up my game with the upcoming "Into the Emerald Dream" expansion. Set to launch on March 25th, this update will introduce 145 new cards, promising to shake up your strategies and combat tactics in exciting ways.

Alongside these new cards, players will have to get accustomed to fresh Keywords: Imbue, available to Druid, Hunter, Mage, Paladin, Priest, and Shaman, and Dark Gifts, for Death Knight, Demon Hunter, Rogue, Warlock, and Warrior. I'm still wrapping my head around how these new mechanics will influence the game's flow, but it's clear they're set to alter the meta significantly. The expanded keyword Choose One, where every class gets a card that lets you pick between two modes, adds another layer of strategic depth to your battles.

Adding to the mix is a new Legendary minion, Ysera, Emerald Aspect, which is sure to stir things up in the deck-building scene. It's going to be a challenge to adapt to these new decks, but I'm ready to tackle it head-on.

ytIn the lead-up to the launch, you can already pre-purchase the new bundles until March 25th. If you're looking for other card games to play in the meantime, why not check out our list of the best card games on Android?

For those eager to jump into the action, Hearthstone is available for free-to-play on the App Store and Google Play, with in-app purchases. You can also stay in the loop by following the official Twitter page, visiting the official website for more information, or watching the embedded clip above to get a sense of the expansion's atmosphere and visuals.
