Insomniac Games' Ted Price Reveals Unmade Resistance 4 Pitch
Insomniac Games founder and retiring president Ted Price recently revealed a game concept that never made it to production: Resistance 4. In an interview with Kinda Funny Games, Price shared that the team pitched the idea, describing it as "a wonderful concept." However, due to factors like timing and market opportunities, it wasn't approved.
Despite the game's cancellation, Price expressed the team's enthusiasm for continuing the Resistance storyline. He believes the series' alternate history setting, featuring the Chimera alien invasion of 1951 UK, offers rich potential for further exploration of their origins and future conflicts.
The Resistance series, a collection of first-person shooters, was developed by Insomniac Games following their work on Ratchet & Clank. Three Resistance titles were released for the PlayStation 3 before Insomniac shifted focus to other projects, including the Marvel's Spider-Man series and newer Ratchet & Clank installments.
Price's retirement announcement earlier this year concluded his 30+ year tenure at Insomniac. Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang have been appointed as the studio's new Co-Studio Heads.
Insomniac Games' latest release, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, recently launched on PC. Their next project is the highly anticipated Marvel's Wolverine.
