Unraveling the Mystery of "Bad Blood" in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 offers a wealth of side quests, many enriching the game's narrative and character development. This guide details how to initiate and complete the "Bad Blood" quest.

Starting the Quest:

Progress through the main questline until you're free to explore the game's open world and tasked with finding Mutt. This leads you to a clearing near Bozhena's hut. Speak with Bozhena about Mutt; she'll reveal her daughter Pavlena's disappearance, initiating the "Bad Blood" quest.

Gathering Information:

  1. Troskowitz Investigation: Speak with Bailiff Thrush and Innkeeper Betty in Troskowitz to gather information about Bozhena, Pavlena, and the reasons for their ostracization.

  2. Woodcutter's Clues: Find Woodcutter Dushko. He'll direct you to Roman's house (requires lockpicking). Examine Pavlena's basket inside. Further questioning Dushko leads you to a clearing near Roman's house.

  3. Crime Scene: Follow the blood trail in the clearing to discover Roman's body. Speak with Hogerd Hugo and then Hired Hand Straw (requires a successful dialogue check). Straw reveals information about Jakesh and the events surrounding Roman and Pavlena.

  4. Inform Bailiff Thrush: Update Thrush on your findings regarding Straw.

  5. Investigate near Zhelejov: Proceed to the rocks south of Zhelejov to continue your investigation.

Confronting Ota:

Ota and Pavlena

Navigate the large boulder to find a hidden path and ladder leading to Ota and Pavlena. High Charisma is beneficial for dialogue. The following options will persuade Ota to release Pavlena:

  • "What's your name?"
  • "Let her go and I'll let you go."
  • "I'll put in a good word for you with His Lordship."

Pavlena will subsequently kill Ota. Return to Bozhena with Pavlena.

Choosing Your Path: Kill or Make Peace?

Jakesh at his child's grave

The final decision involves Jakesh. Find him at his child's grave. You can choose to kill him or attempt reconciliation between him and Bozhena. Killing Bozhena is also a possibility, though less conventional. The quest concludes regardless of your choice.

Consequences of Your Actions:

  • Killing Jakesh: Decreases your reputation in Troskowitz but significantly improves it with Bozhena and Pavlena. Unlocks a new dialogue option with Pavlena and rewards you with Roman's gift necklace.

  • Sparing Jakesh: Jakesh rewards you with 100 Groschen. You can keep the money or share it with Bozhena, who will allow both her and Pavlena back into the settlement.

This guide provides a comprehensive walkthrough of the "Bad Blood" quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Remember to explore other resources for additional tips and strategies within the game.
