No Man's Sky: A Comprehensive Guide to Acquiring Solanium
Solanium, a crucial resource in No Man's Sky, is exclusively found on planets with specific climates. This guide details how to locate, farm, and craft this valuable material.
Locating Solanium
Solanium is akin to Frost Crystals but thrives in hot, arid environments. When scanning planets from your starship, look for designations like "Arid," "Incandescent," "Boiling," or "Scorched Planet." The presence of Solanium will also be indicated in the resource scan.
Upon landing, use your Analysis Visor to identify Solar Vines – tall, rock-like structures with luminous vines. These are abundant in designated areas. Remember, you'll need a Haz-Mat Gauntlet to harvest them. While on these planets, collect Phosphorus deposits as well; they are crucial for Solanium crafting.
Farming Solanium
Once you've progressed in the Farmer's Agricultural Research mission, you can cultivate Solar Vines at your base. Use a Hydroponic Tray or Bio-Dome, planting them with 50 Solanium and 50 Phosphorus. If your base is on a hot planet, direct ground planting is possible. Allow approximately 16 real-time hours for growth before harvesting.
Crafting Solanium
Several Refiner recipes yield Solanium, most requiring Phosphorus (often obtained from hot planets, or purchased from traders/Galactic Trade Terminals). Here's a summary of the crafting recipes:
- Solanium + Phosphorus (creates more Solanium)
- Phosphorus + Oxygen
- Phosphorus + Sulphurine
- Di-hydrogen + Sulphurine
Note that all recipes, including those using Sulphurine, necessitate a visit to a hot planet. Establishing a Phosphorus farm at your base ensures a consistent Sulphurine supply.
