Discover the latest updates and changes in Marvel Rivals as the game responds to player feedback regarding rank resets. Dive in to see what's new and what's coming next.

Marvel Rivals Backtracks On Their Player Rank Reset

Dev Talk 11 Updates on Seasonal Rank Adjustments

In response to widespread fan feedback, Marvel Rivals has reversed their decision on mid-season player rank resets. The official Marvel Rivals Twitter (X) account announced this change, retracting the plans outlined in Dev Talk 10, which had proposed a rank reset that would drop players four divisions every 45 days.

The community's outcry highlighted the discouraging nature of frequent rank resets, particularly for those striving to advance. Acknowledging these concerns, Marvel Rivals confirmed in Dev Talk 11 that there will be no mid-season rank resets. Players can now retain their scores and ranks from the first half of the season. However, the end-of-season reset remains, with players dropping down six divisions.

Human Torch, The Thing, And Other Updates Still On The Way

Marvel Rivals Rank Reset Mid-Season Proves Too Controversial, Prompting Reversal

Despite the rollback on mid-season rank resets, Marvel Rivals continues to roll out exciting updates. The much-anticipated addition of new heroes, Human Torch and The Thing, remains on track, expanding the game's roster to 39 heroes. NetEase Games has confirmed that two new characters will be introduced each season, with seasons lasting three months.

Additionally, the rewards system for players reaching Gold rank and above will stay the same, with those achieving Gold or higher receiving a free Invisible Woman costume. Players at the Grandmaster rank and above will continue to earn Crests of Honor. New rewards at the end of the season will include another free costume for Gold rank players and additional Crests of Honor for those at Grandmaster and above.

While balance adjustments are expected post mid-season update, specific details about these changes have yet to be disclosed.
