Marvel Rivals Season 1: A New York City Nightscape of Maps
Marvel Rivals Season 1 continues to expand its content, introducing new heroes, cosmetics, and several maps themed around a nocturnal New York City. This guide details each map added during the season.
Table of Contents
- Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown
- Empire of Eternal Night: The Mystical Sanctum Santorum
- Empire of Eternal Night: Central Park
Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown
Launched at the start of Season 1, Midtown is a Convoy map designed for the game's payload mode. Players either escort or defend a moving vehicle across the map. This is the third Convoy map in Rivals, joining Yggsgard: Yggdrasill Path and Tokyo 2099: Spider-Islands. Midtown depicts a dark, Dracula's Blood Moon-lit version of New York City, featuring recognizable landmarks such as:
- Baxter Building
- Grand Central Terminal
- Stark/Avengers Tower
- Fisk Tower
- Ardmore’s Bookstore
- Timely Trend
Empire of Eternal Night: The Mystical Sanctum Santorum
This map, a unique take on Doctor Strange's Sanctum Santorum, is exclusive to the game's Doom Match mode—a free-for-all deathmatch. Top-performing players earn wins, with the best player receiving MVP status. The map is a detailed rendering of Strange's home and headquarters, first appearing in a 1963 comic and later prominently featured in the MCU. Expect hidden secrets, impossible architecture, portals, and even a chance to interact with Bats the Ghost Dog.
Empire of Eternal Night: Central Park
Expected to release later in Season 1, this map features a stylized Belvedere Castle, situated at one of Central Park's highest points. Its Gothic architecture fits the "Empire of Eternal Night" theme, likely serving as a hideout for Dracula within the game's version of New York City. Central Park's inclusion follows its appearances in various Marvel media, most recently in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 (2023).
These are all the new maps currently confirmed for Marvel Rivals Season 1.
