Celebrating Monster Hunter's 20th Anniversary: A Collaboration with Digimon
Digimon COLOR Monster Hunter 20th Edition: Pre-orders Open, Global Release Uncertain
To mark two decades of Monster Hunter, Capcom's acclaimed action-RPG franchise has teamed up with Digimon to release the "Digimon COLOR Monster Hunter 20th Edition" V-Pet. This special edition features designs based on the iconic Rathalos and Zinogre monsters. Each device is priced at 7,700 Yen (approximately $53.2 USD), excluding shipping and other potential fees.
These collectible V-Pets boast a vibrant color LCD screen, UV printing technology, and a convenient rechargeable battery. Gamers can also customize background designs. A new "Cold Mode" temporarily suspends monster growth, hunger, and strength, while a backup system ensures progress is saved.
Pre-orders are currently live on Bandai's official Japanese online store. However, these are Japan-only releases, meaning international buyers may face extra import costs.
Currently, there's no official word on a global release for the Digimon COLOR Monster Hunter 20th Edition. Reports indicate the devices sold out rapidly after the announcement. The initial pre-order window closes today at 11:00 p.m. JST (7:00 a.m. PT / 10:00 a.m. ET). Follow the Digimon Web Twitter (X) account for updates on potential future pre-order rounds. The expected release date is April 2025.
