Monster Hunter Wilds is offering a second Open Beta, giving players another shot at the action and introducing new features. Here's how to join the hunt!
New Monster, New Opportunities
Missed the first Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta? A second testing phase is confirmed for the first two weeks of February! Following the success of the initial beta, this second phase provides another chance to experience the game before its February 28th launch. Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto announced the news via a video on the official Monster Hunter YouTube channel.
The Open Beta Test will run in two sessions: February 6th-9th and February 13th-16th. Available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, this beta includes fresh content, notably the addition of Gypceros, a familiar foe from the series.
Character data from the first beta carries over and can be transferred to the full game, though progress won't be saved. Participants receive in-game rewards: a decorative Stuffed Felyne Teddy (attachable to weapons or Seikret) and a bonus item pack for a head start.
Tsujimoto explained the decision for a second beta, stating, "We’ve heard from many of you that you missed the chance to take part in the first beta, or that you wanted to play again." He added that the team is diligently working on finalizing the full game. Note that recent pre-launch adjustments shown in a previous YouTube video are not yet included in this beta.
Monster Hunter Wilds launches on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on February 28th, 2025. Get ready to hunt!
