Nintendo is ending its popular mobile game, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. The announcement of the game's End of Service (EOS) has surprised many players. The online services will cease on November 28th, 2024, marking the end of Leaf Ticket purchases, Pocket Camp Club memberships (auto-renewal stops October 28th; no refunds after this date, but a commemorative badge will be awarded), and online interactions. The final day for online play is November 28th, 7:00 AM PST.
However, there's a silver lining! Nintendo plans to release a paid offline version of the game, allowing players to retain their saved progress and continue enjoying the core gameplay experience without an internet connection. While features like the Market Box and visiting friends' campsites will be absent, the core gameplay will remain. Details on this offline version are expected around October 2024.
This closure follows a pattern of Nintendo phasing out mobile titles, including Dr. Mario World and Dragalia Lost, with Mario Kart Tour also currently under maintenance. While unexpected for some, this isn't entirely surprising given this trend. Players can download Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp from the Google Play Store to enjoy the remaining time.
