Noir indie shooter MOUSE: P.I. For Hire will be without microtransactions

Fumi Games and PlaySide Studio have unveiled new details about their upcoming title, MOUSE: P.I. For Hire, a first-person shooter boasting a striking visual style reminiscent of 1930s cartoons. Players step into the shoes of private investigator Jack Pepper, navigating a jazz-infused world brimming with mystery and explosive action as he tackles a series of intriguing cases.

A key highlight, emphasized on the game's official X page, is the complete absence of microtransactions. The developers stated: "MOUSE: P.I. For Hire will NOT contain microtransactions. We are creating a stunning single player shooter full of noir atmosphere and explosive combat scenes that we put our hearts into creating." This commitment to a microtransaction-free experience is noteworthy, particularly within the indie game landscape.

Inspired by the charm of vintage 1930s rubber hose animation, MOUSE: P.I. For Hire offers a unique visual aesthetic. Players will explore a noir-tinged city teeming with mobs, gangs, and shadowy figures, utilizing a diverse arsenal of weapons, power-ups, and explosives to combat corrupt politicians and restore order to this chaotic yet vibrant metropolis. The game blends classic first-person shooter mechanics with a playful twist, featuring whimsical weaponry, a distinctive health display, and cartoonishly rendered enemies.

While a precise release date remains unannounced, MOUSE: P.I. For Hire is slated for release sometime in 2025.
