Owlcat Games Embarks on Publishing Venture

A Focus on Narrative-Rich Games

Pathfinder Devs Owlcat Games Become PublishersOn August 13th, Owlcat Games, renowned for its acclaimed cRPGs like Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous and Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, announced its expansion into game publishing. This strategic move, building on the acquisition of META Publishing in 2021, aims to empower developers of narrative-focused games. Owlcat will provide these studios with the resources and support necessary to bring their compelling stories to life.

This publishing initiative reflects Owlcat's commitment to enriching the gaming landscape by collaborating with studios sharing their passion for immersive storytelling. By offering its expertise, Owlcat seeks to elevate the quality and reach of narrative-driven experiences.

New Games Joining the Owlcat Portfolio

Owlcat has already partnered with two promising development teams:

  • Emotion Spark Studio (Serbia): Developing Rue Valley, a narrative RPG centered around a time loop mystery in a remote town. The game explores themes of mental health and personal growth. Owlcat's support will focus on enhancing the narrative and player engagement.

  • Another Angle Games (Poland): Creating Shadow of the Road, an isometric RPG set in an alternate feudal Japan. Blending samurai culture, tactical combat, yokai, and steampunk elements, the game promises a unique mix of narrative and strategic gameplay. Owlcat will aid in the game's development and successful launch.

Both Rue Valley and Shadow of the Road are in early development, with more details expected later this month. Owlcat plans to regularly update fans on the progress of these exciting projects.

Owlcat's entry into publishing represents a significant step forward, promising a wider variety of compelling narrative-driven games for players worldwide. This initiative not only champions emerging talent but also enriches the gaming industry as a whole.
